The cat's out of the bag: We're leaving Timcast

with great gratitude and excitement for the future

Tonight on Timcast IRL, I officially announced Andy and I are leaving the Timcast media empire. We could not be more grateful for the time we got to spend here. We met each other here, for Pete's sake! It's been an amazing experience all around. Now it's time to open a new chapter in our lives, to be close to family as we start trying to build our own family (very excited for that - wish us luck), and, equally important, making cultural change to the best of our abilities.

The truth is that civil war may be coming, and we know this. Tim, Ian and our guests talked about it on Timcast IRL almost every night, it felt like. But I always came away wanting to explore practical steps we could take to prevent this impending civil war. I didn't give up hope through almost 700 episodes. Now, I feel, it's my chance to talk about how best to preserve the rich tapestry that is the country we love, care about, and (hope to) raise our children in.

I'm excited to announce that on Saturday morning, October 8th, 2022, at 10:00 am EST, Andy and I will be sitting down live on YouTube (YouTube.com/sourpatchlyds) with you guys, the coolest little audience, to hear your ideas about how we can try to slow this descent into chaos, war, and madness, and what content you'd like to see to help you engage your communities, families, and friends with compassion, humor, and unwavering commitment to truth. We already have some fun, engaging, non-political ideas to start the conversation, and you’d better believe we'll be reading your chats. Some of our ideas involve exploring outside, reading books, building things, learning skills, critiquing memes and other pop culture, and hosting philosophical discussions with some of the smartest people out there.

I hope you'll join us as we start this new phase of life. It's going to be great, I can tell.
